Re: Edison w/ Arduino Expansion board no longer boot with 12V supply

No I ordered it online. So it will take probably take two weeks to get my new board back.

 

I sent an e-mail to Intel support and they said to always make sure to plug the power J1 (power) in first and then (J16) USB second. They didn't say what would happen if you didn't follow these steps. I also don't recall doing these steps incorrectly ever either, but I could have. So maybe that something to do with the failure. But that would be really horrible design if plugging in a device in incorrect order broke your board.

 

Anyways I think at this point if your J1 power port stopped working your J1 is broken, which means VIN shouldn't work either  ( I could be very wrong though ). Seems strictly hardware related.  Best bet IMO is to RMA it or just use the J2 Headers for battery operation or J16 USB power to the board.
