If you are having problems to install the driver using the Intel Driver Update Utility, as  timboss says, the problem may be related to the driver you currently have installed.

Try doing the following:

1. Uninstall the driver from device manager.
2. Download the latest driver for your controller at the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23405&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%208.1%2C%2064-bit*&DownloadType=Drivers

In case that you are having problems to install the .exe file you can try with the manual driver installation. Here you have the information for the manual driver installation:
